Drill bit for metal EPM HSS cylindrical 1 mm set of 2 (E-500-1010)
Drill bit for metal EPM HSS cylindrical 1 mm set of 2 (E-500-1010)
EPM HSS cylindrical drill bits for metal, diameter 1 mm, sold as a set of two. These high-speed steel (HSS) drills are designed for precision drilling in metal workpieces and feature a cylindrical shank compatible with standard chucks. The small 1 mm diameter is intended for accurate pilot holes, fine mechanical work and tasks where minimal material removal is required.
Made from HSS material, the bits provide good hardness and heat resistance for cutting through a variety of metal types. The cylindrical shank ensures secure clamping in standard drill chucks and handheld drills. Supplied as a pair, the set reduces downtime by providing a spare for repetitive or multi-step operations. The short flute length and small diameter support controlled drilling and reduced wobble in precision applications.
Secure the cylindrical shank in a compatible drill chuck and ensure the bit is clamped straight to minimise runout. Mark and centre-punch the drilling location on the metal surface to help start the cut accurately. Use an appropriate spindle speed for a 1 mm HSS drill in metal—typically higher speeds for softer metals and moderately lower speeds for harder alloys. Apply steady, light feed pressure and use cutting fluid or lubricant to reduce heat and extend tool life. Withdraw the bit periodically to clear chips when drilling deeper holes.
For best results, pre-centre with a punch, use cutting oil for continuous drilling in metal, and replace the bit when signs of dulling or excessive wandering occur. Store bits in a protective case to avoid tip damage and to keep the pair together.
