The Ergom flexible PVC cable grommet with a 45mm diameter is a professional solution designed for effective cable management and protection. Crafted from high-quality, durable PVC, this component ensures that cables passing through panels, enclosures, or metal sheets remain protected from sharp edges, preventing abrasion and potential electrical faults. Its flexible design allows for easy installation and a secure fit, contributing to a clean, organized, and safe electrical installation in both industrial and domestic environments.
Advantages
The primary benefit of this grommet is its robust construction, which provides long-lasting protection against mechanical wear and tear. The flexible PVC material adapts well to various surface thicknesses, ensuring a tight seal that keeps cables stable and prevents them from shifting. By using this grommet, you significantly reduce the risk of cable insulation damage, which enhances the overall safety and longevity of your electrical systems. Its simple design allows for quick and efficient mounting without the need for specialized tools.
Suitable for
- Protecting cables passing through metal or plastic panels
- Organizing wiring in electrical enclosures and cabinets
- Industrial machinery and control panel installations
- Domestic electronic equipment housing
- Automotive and workshop wiring projects
When it may not be suitable
This grommet is designed for standard panel thicknesses and may not provide a secure fit on extremely thin or exceptionally thick materials. It is intended for use in environments where temperatures remain within the standard range for PVC materials and is not suitable for high-heat industrial applications where specialized heat-resistant materials are required.
Key specifications
- Material: Durable flexible PVC
- Diameter: 45mm
- Application: Cable protection and panel passage
- Design: Flexible for easy installation
How to use
To install the grommet, ensure that the hole in the panel is clean and free of debris. Align the grommet with the opening and press it firmly into place until the groove sits securely against the edge of the panel. Once seated, feed your cables through the center opening. The flexible nature of the PVC will grip the cables gently, providing a stable passage while protecting them from the edges of the panel.
What to consider before purchase
- Verify the diameter of the hole in your panel matches the 45mm specification
- Check the thickness of the panel material to ensure compatibility
- Consider the environmental conditions of the installation site
Usage recommendations
For optimal performance, ensure the cable grommet is fully seated around the entire circumference of the hole. If the grommet is being used in an outdoor or high-vibration environment, inspect it periodically to ensure it remains securely in place and that the cable insulation shows no signs of wear.
