Ergom KOR 70/16 is a tin-plated copper ring terminal engineered for reliable termination of 70 mm² conductors. The terminal has a 16 mm ring bore suitable for bolted connections used in electrical installations, battery leads, grounding points and heavy-duty power distribution. Tin plating provides enhanced corrosion resistance and improves solderability while maintaining low contact resistance typical of copper conductors.
The tin-plated copper construction combines excellent electrical conductivity with protection against oxidation and environmental corrosion. A large contact area supports secure mechanical and electrical connection, reducing heat build-up at joints. The standardized 16 mm bore allows compatibility with common bolt sizes in industrial and automotive applications. The terminal is formed to facilitate easy crimping and stable long-term performance under vibration and load.
Strip the cable to the appropriate length to expose the conductor without damaging strands. Insert the 70 mm² conductor fully into the barrel of the ring terminal and crimp using a compatible crimping tool or press designed for the terminal size to achieve a secure mechanical and electrical joint. Place the terminal over the bolt or stud and tighten the connection to the recommended torque for the bolt and conductor size to ensure stable contact and prevent loosening under vibration.
Confirm compatibility of bolt diameter, torque specifications and conductor preparation before installation. For outdoor or marine environments, ensure additional protection against moisture and corrosive agents where necessary. Periodically inspect crimped joints and bolted connections for signs of corrosion or loosening, especially in high-vibration applications.
