The Halo PX408M is a 4K IP security camera with a 1/1.8" progressive scan CMOS sensor and an 11–28mm motorised zoom lens. It supports H.265 and H.264 multi-codec encoding to reduce storage requirements, features a Gen3 HDR real-time engine for improved dynamic range, and is built in an all-aluminium, vandal- and weather-resistant housing suitable for indoor and outdoor installations.

Advantages

The motorised 11–28mm lens offers remote zoom and focus over the network and a P-Iris for precise aperture control, reducing onsite tuning and speeding up installation. Multi-codec support (H.265/H.264/MJPEG) lowers bandwidth and storage when using H.265. How to use

Install the Halo PX408M on a stable ceiling, wall, or pole mount using appropriate fasteners for the surface. Connect to the network via wired Ethernet and, if available, power the device using PoE (IEEE 802.3af) to simplify wiring. Access the camera through its web interface or compatible NVR/ONVIF client to configure resolution, codec (choose H.265 to reduce storage), ROI, and enable HDR/3D DNR settings. Use the remote zoom and focus controls to position and fine-tune the view; P-Iris will help maintain optimal aperture automatically.

Recommendations

For best results, use H.265 encoding to reduce storage and enable HDR Gen3 for scenes with strong contrast. Ensure the camera is mounted securely at a height and angle appropriate for the monitored area and keep lenses clean for optimal IR performance up to 40 m.
