Welding Electrode ESAB OK ARISTOROD 12.50 D1.0 5kg — rutile-coated mild steel filler
ESAB OK ARISTOROD 12.50 D1.0 is a pack of rutile-coated welding electrodes supplied in a 5 kg container for manual metal arc welding of mild steel. The 1.0 mm diameter rods deliver a stable arc, predictable bead appearance and easy slag detachment, making them suitable for general fabrication, repair tasks and assemblies involving thin-sheet material. These electrodes are intended for use with appropriate welding current settings and standard electrode holders for MMA welding.
The rutile coating provides smooth arc ignition and re-ignition, producing a consistent weld profile and reduced spatter. Small 1.0 mm diameter rods enable fine control on thin materials and narrow joints while the 5 kg pack supports multiple small-scale jobs without frequent repackaging. Slag formed during welding peels off easily, speeding up post-weld cleaning and improving productivity for routine fabrication and maintenance work.
Select an appropriate welding current for 1.0 mm electrodes and mount the rod in a standard electrode holder. Clean the joint area from contaminants such as oil, rust and paint before welding. Strike and maintain a stable arc, advancing at a controlled speed to produce uniform beads; allow slag to solidify before removing with a chipping hammer or brush. Use correct personal protective equipment including welding helmet, gloves and protective clothing.
For best results on thin-sheet work, set the welding current at the lower end of the recommended range for 1.0 mm electrodes and maintain a short arc length. Store the pack in a dry environment to prevent moisture pickup, which can affect arc stability and hydrogen content in the weld.
