Modem EXSYS EX-8221 14.4 Kbit/s RJ-45 PCI
The Exsys EX-8221 modem is a compact internal PCI modem that provides standard 14.4 Kbit/s data transfer over analog telephone lines. Designed for installation in desktop PCs with an available PCI slot, the device connects to the public switched telephone network via an RJ-45 connector on the card and includes an RJ-11 phone cable in the package for immediate connection. The modem is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP, Vista and 7 and is intended for basic dial-up networking, fax transmission and legacy telecommunication tasks.
The modem combines a small form factor and low weight with straightforward PCI installation, making it suitable for older desktop systems that require an internal dial-up solution. Built to support common analog line functions, it includes a phone cable so users can start setup without extra accessories. Compatibility with multiple legacy Windows versions simplifies driver availability for supported systems.
Power down the PC, open the case and insert the modem into an available PCI slot. Secure the card to the chassis, close the case and power the computer on. Install the appropriate drivers for the target operating system if they are not automatically detected. Connect the supplied RJ-11 phone cable between the analog telephone wall jack and the modem's external RJ-45 connection using any required adapter or wiring as applicable. Configure dial-up networking or fax software according to the network or service provider settings.
Use the modem on systems that require analog dial-up connectivity or fax functions. Ensure the operating system drivers match the installed Windows version before critical use. For reliable connections, test the telephone line quality and, if needed, use line filters or surge protection to reduce interference.
