Boundary wire 500 m 2.7 mm for robotic lawn mowers, extra digital
500 m long boundary wire with 2.7 mm outer diameter designed to define the working area for autonomous devices such as robotic lawn mowers. The wire transmits a low-voltage boundary signal that the mower recognises, allowing it to detect and remain within the designated zone. It is suitable for marking lawn perimeters, surrounding obstacles and creating separate mowing zones. The cable is compatible with most Husqvarna Automower models and with many other popular robotic mower brands.
The cable has a copper conductor and an HDPE sheath that resists moisture, corrosion and UV exposure, making it suitable for surface laying and shallow underground installation. A 500 m roll covers medium to large properties and allows enclosing multiple obstacles such as trees, pools, flower beds and paths. The same boundary wire can also be used with underground pet containment systems to limit animal movement.
Lay the boundary wire around the lawn perimeter and around obstacles you want the mower to avoid, then connect the ends to the charging/control station following the robotic mower manufacturer’s instructions. For temporary setups the cable can be laid on the surface and secured with pegs; for a permanent solution bury the wire a few centimetres underground. Check that connections are tight and avoid routing the wire alongside high-voltage power or data cables.
Follow the robotic mower manufacturer's installation instructions, test the boundary before leaving the mower to operate unattended, and replace any damaged wire sections using appropriate connectors. Keep a schematic of the layout for future maintenance.
