Extralink Cable pulling rod Pilot 4.5mm 75m glass fibre FRP yellow
The Extralink Cable pulling rod Pilot is a 75 m long glass fibre (FRP) rod with a 4.5 mm diameter, supplied on a compact stand that simplifies unrolling and storage. The rod core is manufactured from high-elasticity, tear- and bend-resistant fibre, protected by a yellow PE coating that improves visibility and sliding performance during cable installation. The stand is powder-coated blue and includes a manual brake to lock the drum and an integrated guide eyelet; the rod terminates in a guiding head for secure attachment and easier routing through conduits and ducts.
This 4.5 mm, 75 m FRP pulling rod combines flexibility with strength to reduce the risk of breakage during installation. The yellow PE covering protects the fibre from abrasion and enhances sliding, while the stand’s manual brake and eyelet improve control and safety when unrolling. The compact rack design supports convenient transport, storage and on-site handling, making the tool practical for repeated professional or DIY use.
Place the stand on a stable surface and release the manual brake to unroll the rod. Feed the guiding head through the conduit or duct until it reaches the desired pull-through point, then attach the cable securely to the guiding head. Retract the rod using steady, controlled motion while the brake can be applied to stop and reposition the drum as needed. After use, engage the brake, wind the rod back onto the drum if required, and store the unit on its rack to protect the fibre and coating.
Do not exceed sharp bends or apply excessive tension to the rod; observe recommended pulling forces for the cable being installed. Keep the guiding head and PE coating clean to preserve sliding properties. Store the unit in a dry environment and inspect the rod and guide head for damage before each use.
