Product information

Description

The Extralink Pilot Cable Pulling Rod made of Glass Fibre FRP with 8 mm diameter and 150 m length in yellow color is a professional tool designed for efficient wire and cabling installations. Constructed from durable glass fibre reinforced plastic, this rod provides high tensile strength and flexibility for demanding infrastructure projects, facilitating cable routing through conduits, ducts, and walls.

Advantages

The Extralink cable pulling rod is engineered to deliver high performance in professional network deployments. Its robust glass fibre FRP core ensures excellent resistance to bending and mechanical stress during operation. The smooth outer polyethylene sheath reduces friction, allowing the rod to glide easily through long conduit runs. Integrated mobility wheels and a functional support stand make transportation across job sites straightforward and efficient.

Suitable for

Pulling cables through underground telecommunication ducts
Routing network wires through building conduits and walls
Professional electrical and telecommunication infrastructure installations

This tool may not be suitable for delicate indoor residential wiring where a thicker 8 mm rod cannot navigate tight junction boxes or short, complex bends. It is also oversized for simple, short-distance cable runs where lighter hand-held tapes are more appropriate.

Key specifications

Rod material: Glass fibre reinforced plastic (FRP)
Rod diameter: 8 mm
Rod length: 150 m
Product color: Yellow
Number of wheels: 2

How to use

Unroll the required length of the glass fibre rod from the storage frame while guiding it carefully into the conduit or duct. Push the rod steadily through the pathway until the leading end emerges at the destination point. Attach the cables securely to the pulling eye of the rod and retract the rod back to the starting point to pull the cables through the installation path. Ensure the manual drum lock is engaged when transporting or storing the unit to prevent accidental unspooling.

What to consider before purchase

Verify that the 8 mm rod diameter and 150 m length match the scale of your planned cable routing projects
Check that the minimum bend radius and conduit dimensions of your workspace are compatible with an 8 mm rod
Consider the physical workspace and ensure two-wheel mobility meets your site transportation needs

Usage recommendations: Always inspect the glass fibre rod for signs of fraying or surface cracking before each use. Wear appropriate protective gloves during operation to prevent skin irritation from glass fibres. Store the equipment in a dry environment protected from direct sunlight when not in use.
