Cable pulling rod Extralink Pilot 13mm 200m glass fibre FRP yellow
The Extralink Pilot 13mm 200m cable pulling rod is a glass fibre (FRP) tool designed for installing cables in conduits, ducts and confined spaces. With a 13 mm diameter and 200 m length, the rod combines flexibility and tensile resistance to guide telecommunications and electrical cables over long runs. The bright yellow PE-coated outer sheath improves visibility on site and provides additional abrasion resistance and lubricity for smoother pulling.
The FRP construction delivers a balance of stiffness and flexibility, resisting bending and tearing while allowing the rod to negotiate bends and offsets. The yellow protective sheath reduces wear and eases feeding through conduits. The kit includes a powder-coated stand with a manual lock that secures the drum during use and transport, plus a guiding head at the rod end that simplifies attachment and routing of cables.
Mount the drum on the supplied powder-coated stand and engage the manual lock to secure the reel. Feed the guiding head through the conduit or duct, advancing the rod in controlled increments while maintaining gentle tension to avoid excessive bending. Attach the cable to the guiding head or suitable puller connection, and pull the rod back while winding the rod onto the reel. Use the guiding eye on the stand to manage alignment and prevent kinking during deployment and retrieval.
Inspect the conduit route for sharp edges or obstructions before feeding the rod. Keep pulls straight where possible, and avoid sharp bends beyond the rod's bending capability. Use gloves to protect hands and reduce friction when handling long runs. Store the rod on the stand in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prolong the life of the PE sheath and FRP core.
