Product information

Description

The Extralink Cable pulling rod Pilot 8mm 50m glass fibre FRP yellow is a professional tool designed for efficient cable pulling and routing through conduits, ducts, and pipes. Featuring an 8 mm rod diameter and a 50 m length, this equipment is constructed from durable fiberglass with a protective yellow plastic coating to ensure smooth gliding during operation. Mounted on a practical wheeled frame equipped with a brake and guide eyelet, the device offers reliable performance and easy transport for various installation tasks.

Advantages

The Extralink cable pulling rod stands out due to its high tensile strength, elasticity, and excellent resistance to bending and tearing. The corrosion-resistant fiberglass rod is protected by a specialized plastic coating that facilitates effortless cable glide through complex conduit systems. The inclusion of an ergonomic wheeled stand, complete with a functional brake, ensures that deploying and retracting the rod remains controlled and straightforward on any job site.

Suitable for

Pulling wires between telecommunications manholes
Pushing cables under roads and infrastructure
Electrical installations in suspended ceilings
Cleaning and unclogging pipes and conduits
Introducing cables into protective pipes

When it may not be suitable

This cable pulling rod may not be suitable for extremely tight indoor electrical conduits with very sharp bends where a thicker 8 mm rod cannot navigate smoothly. Additionally, it is not designed for heavy-duty mechanical structural support or lifting applications.

Key specifications

Rod diameter: 8 mm
Rod length: 50 m
Rod material: Fibreglass FRP
Product colour: Yellow and blue
Number of wheels: 1 wheel
Corrosion resistant: Yes

How to use

Begin by placing the wheeled frame on a stable surface near the conduit opening. Release the brake mechanism gently and pull the desired length of the yellow fiberglass rod from the reel, guiding it through the eyelet. Insert the guiding head end of the rod into the duct and push it steadily through until it emerges at the opposite end. Attach the cables securely to the guiding head and carefully reel the fiberglass rod back onto the frame to pull the cables through the conduit.

What to consider before purchase

Verify that the 8 mm rod diameter and 50 m length match the requirements of your specific installation projects.
Ensure you have adequate workspace to position the wheeled frame near the conduit entry points.
Check the minimum bending radius of your conduits to ensure compatibility with an 8 mm fiberglass rod.

Always inspect the fiberglass rod for any signs of fraying or damage before each use, and engage the frame brake during transport to prevent accidental unwinding.
