Product information

Description

The Extralink Cable pulling rod Pilot 4.5mm 100m glass fibre FRP yellow is a professional tool designed for efficient cable pulling and routing through conduits, walls, and ducts during networking and electrical installations. Built with a robust fibreglass FRP core, this rod provides high elasticity and exceptional resistance to bending and breaking. The 100-metre length and 4.5-millimetre diameter make it well-suited for extended runs in complex routing environments. A protective yellow PE plastic coating enhances durability and provides smooth sliding properties, while the integrated wheel and stand assembly facilitates easy transport, controlled unwinding, and storage.

Advantages

The Extralink cable pulling rod offers high tensile strength and flexibility, allowing technicians to navigate tight bends and complex conduit paths without damaging the rod or existing wiring. The durable fibreglass construction ensures long-lasting performance under demanding job-site conditions. The protective outer plastic coating not only shields the core from abrasion but also minimizes friction during insertion and retraction. The inclusion of a dedicated stand with a manual brake mechanism provides precise control over the deployment of the rod, preventing unwanted spool rotation and improving overall operational efficiency.

Suitable for

Pulling cables through conduits, ducts, and pipes
Routing network and electrical cables in commercial and residential buildings
Telecommunications installations between manholes
Cable management in suspended ceilings
Unblocking and cleaning pipes or conduits

This tool may not be suitable for heavy-duty industrial trenching applications where extremely thick underground cables require higher pulling forces and thicker rod diameters. It is also not intended for structural load-bearing applications or tasks outside of cable routing and conduit preparation.

Key specifications

Rod diameter: 4.5 mm
Rod length: 100 m
Rod material: Fibreglass FRP
Product colour: Yellow and blue
Number of wheels: 1 wheel
Frame dimensions: 170 mm width, 450 mm depth, 550 mm height

To use the Extralink cable pulling rod, place the stand on a stable surface near the conduit access point. Release the manual brake on the stand to allow the drum to rotate freely. Guide the guiding head of the fibreglass rod into the conduit, pushing it steadily through the path until it emerges at the destination point. Attach the target cables securely to the end of the rod using appropriate pulling grips or tape. Retract the rod by winding it back onto the drum while applying the manual brake as needed to maintain tension and control.

What to consider before purchase

Verify that the 100-metre length and 4.5-millimetre diameter meet the specific requirements of your installation projects
Ensure the work environment has adequate space to position the supporting stand and wheel assembly
Assess the maximum conduit bend radius to ensure compatibility with the rod flexibility

Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves, when handling fibreglass rods to prevent skin irritation from potential splintering. Do not exceed the maximum bending radius of the rod to avoid permanent structural damage. Secure the manual brake on the stand when transporting or storing the unit to prevent accidental unspooling.
