Product information

Description

The Extralink Cable Pulling Rod Pilot 350m Glass Fibre FRP 11mm Yellow is a professional tool designed to facilitate efficient cable routing and pulling tasks in telecommunications and electrical installations. With a substantial length of 350 meters and a robust 11 millimeter diameter, this essential network tool supports infrastructure deployment over long distances. The product features a durable glass fibre FRP core complemented by a protective polyethylene coating that ensures smooth gliding properties during operation. Mounted on a functional powder-coated metal stand equipped with a manual brake and guide eye, the assembly allows for controlled unwinding, easy transport, and convenient storage.

Advantages

The Extralink cable pulling pilot offers high elasticity combined with exceptional resistance to bending and mechanical stress. Its durable protective coating minimizes friction and protects the inner fibreglass structure from wear during intensive daily use. The integrated stand features a manual brake system to securely lock the drum and prevent unintended spooling, while the dedicated guide eye ensures the rod remains aligned during extraction and retraction. Finished with a guiding head at the end, the rod easily navigates through complex pathways and tight spaces.

Suitable for

Pulling wires and cables between telecommunications manholes
Pushing cables under roads and infrastructure crossings
Cable routing in suspended ceilings and building installations
Cleaning and unclogging pipes, conduits, and sewage systems
Guiding cables into protective tubes

When it may not be suitable

This heavy-duty tool is designed for large-scale professional installations and may be excessively bulky and rigid for small residential wiring tasks or tight indoor spaces. Due to its significant physical dimensions and weight, it is less suited for projects requiring high portability or deployment in confined areas where smaller fish tapes would be more practical.

Key specifications

Rod material: Fibreglass FRP
Rod diameter: 11 mm
Rod length: 350 m
Rod colour: Yellow
Stand dimensions: Width 500 mm, Depth 1250 mm, Height 1150 mm
Stand features: Manual brake, guide eye, blue powder-coated finish

How to use

Begin by placing the stand on a stable, flat surface near the access point of the conduit or pipe. Release the manual brake on the drum cautiously to control the tension and prevent the fibreglass rod from springing out unexpectedly. Guide the front end equipped with the guiding head into the pipe or duct, feeding the rod forward steadily while paying out more material from the drum. Once the guiding head reaches the destination point, attach the cable securely to the designated fixture at the end of the rod. Lock the drum brake and carefully pull the rod back to draw the cable through the conduit. After completing the task, wind the rod back onto the drum while cleaning off any dirt or debris, and engage the brake for secure storage and transport.

What to consider before purchase

Verify that the 350-meter length and 11-millimeter diameter match your specific infrastructure installation requirements
Ensure you have adequate space for transporting and storing the equipment stand, which measures 500 x 1250 x 1150 mm
Confirm that the conduit diameters you work with are compatible with an 11 mm thick pulling rod

Use appropriate protective gear, including gloves, during operation to prevent skin irritation from fibreglass materials, and always maintain control of the drum brake to avoid sudden whip-like movements of the rod.
