Extralink Cable pulling rod Pilot 10mm 100m glass fibre FRP yellow
The Extralink Cable pulling rod Pilot is a professional tool designed for efficient cable installation in various environments. Constructed from high-elasticity glass fibre (FRP), this 100-meter rod offers exceptional durability and resistance to bending and tearing. The rod is protected by a yellow polyethylene (PE) coating, which provides excellent sliding properties to facilitate smooth movement through conduits and pipes. The entire system is mounted on a sturdy, powder-coated blue metal stand, which includes a manual brake for drum control and a specialized eyelet for precise fiber guidance.
The primary advantage of this cable pulling rod is its robust construction, which balances flexibility with high tensile strength. The glass fibre core ensures that the rod can navigate complex duct paths without kinking or breaking. The protective PE coating reduces friction, allowing for easier insertion over long distances. Furthermore, the integrated stand simplifies the unrolling and storage process, while the manual brake prevents unwanted spooling, ensuring controlled and safe operation during installation tasks.
This product may not be suitable for extremely tight or sharp-angled conduits where the 10mm diameter might be too rigid to navigate. It is also not intended for use in high-temperature environments that exceed the thermal limits of the polyethylene coating.
To use the Extralink cable pulling rod, place the stand on a stable, flat surface. Release the manual brake to allow the drum to rotate freely. Feed the guiding head of the rod into the conduit or pipe. Once the rod has reached the destination, attach the cable to the guiding head using appropriate pulling grips or tape. Secure the connection, then retract the rod by winding it back onto the drum while applying the manual brake to maintain tension and prevent tangling.
Always inspect the rod for cracks or damage before each use to ensure safety. Keep the rod clean and free of debris to maintain its sliding properties and prevent damage to the conduit interior.
