SFP Module Extralink 1.25Gbps LC/UPC 850nm 550m multimode (2-pack)
Extralink SFP 1.25Gbps LC/UPC 850nm multimode transceiver kit (2-pack) provides two hot-pluggable modules designed for fiber uplink and network aggregation. Each module supports a 1.25 Gbps data rate and uses an 850 nm VCSEL light source with LC/UPC duplex optical connectors. The transceivers are intended for short-reach multimode fiber links up to 550 meters and include digital optical monitoring (DOM) capability for real-time diagnostics of transmit power, receive power, temperature and supply voltage.
The modules deliver reliable 1.25 Gbps connectivity for switches, routers and media converters in campus and enterprise environments. Compact SFP form factor allows flexible port upgrades without replacing networking equipment. Integrated DOM simplifies maintenance and fault detection by providing optical parameter reporting. Using LC/UPC connectors and multimode fiber compatibility ensures straightforward installation in existing fiber cabling infrastructures.
Power off or isolate the target device if recommended by the equipment vendor, then insert the SFP module into an available SFP slot until it clicks into place. Connect the LC/UPC duplex patch cable between the module and the multimode fiber link, observing correct transmit-to-receive fiber alignment. After installation, verify link status and speed on the host device and use DOM readouts to confirm optical power and module health. Modules are hot-pluggable on most devices that support industry-standard SFP transceivers.
Use appropriate multimode fiber (OM1/OM2/OM3/OM4 as supported by your cabling) and LC duplex patch cords. Ensure cleanliness of LC connectors before mating and avoid bending the fiber beyond manufacturer bend-radius limits. Check compatibility lists of switches or routers for SFP transceiver support and enable DOM monitoring in management interfaces for proactive diagnostics.
