Cable pulling rod Extralink Pilot 3.8mm 15m fiberglass FRP yellow
The Extralink cable pulling rod is a professional tool designed for efficient cable installation in conduits and pipes. Constructed from high-quality fiberglass (FRP) with a diameter of 3.8 mm and a length of 15 meters, this rod offers the necessary rigidity for pushing through long distances while maintaining the flexibility required to navigate bends. The rod is encased in a protective yellow PE coating, which minimizes friction and ensures smooth sliding through narrow spaces. The entire assembly is mounted on a durable, powder-coated blue metal stand that features a manual brake to secure the drum and an integrated eyelet for precise fiber guidance.
This cable pulling rod stands out due to its exceptional elasticity and resistance to bending and tearing, ensuring a long service life even under demanding conditions. The protective yellow coating not only shields the fiberglass core from damage but also provides excellent sliding properties, making it easier to pull cables through complex conduit systems. The included stand simplifies the unrolling process and provides a stable base for storage and transport, while the manual brake prevents unwanted spooling during operation.
This tool is not intended for use in high-temperature environments where the PE coating could melt or degrade. It is also not suitable for pulling extremely heavy or thick industrial cables that exceed the structural load capacity of a 3.8 mm fiberglass rod.
To use the cable pulling rod, place the stand on a stable surface and release the manual brake to allow the drum to rotate freely. Feed the end of the rod, which is equipped with a specialized guiding head, into the conduit or pipe. Once the rod has reached the destination, attach the cable to the guiding head using a pulling grip or electrical tape. Carefully retract the rod by winding it back onto the drum while ensuring the cable follows smoothly through the conduit. Always engage the manual brake when the rod is not in use to prevent accidental unspooling.
Always inspect the fiberglass rod for cracks or signs of wear before each use to prevent breakage inside the conduit. Keep the rod clean and free of debris to maintain its sliding properties.
