Tap FANAR M10 DIN 371B (6H) HSSE-PM TiCN for threading M10
FANAR tap M10 to DIN 371B standard with 6H tolerance, made of HSSE-PM high-speed steel with TiCN coating. This tap is intended for cutting internal metric threads M10 in a variety of steels and non-ferrous materials. It is suitable for both manual and machine tapping operations where dimensional accuracy, wear resistance and extended tool life are required. The DIN 371B geometry supports reliable chip evacuation and consistent thread form for general-purpose and production environments.
The HSSE-PM substrate provides high red hardness and toughness, while the TiCN coating reduces friction and improves resistance to abrasive wear. The DIN 371B profile with 6H tolerance delivers accurate M10 threads compatible with standard mating fasteners. The tool is balanced between performance and durability to reduce tap breakage risk and maintain consistent thread quality across batches.
Select a correctly sized drill for the M10 tap according to standard drill-tap charts and secure the workpiece to prevent movement. Use appropriate cutting fluid for the material being tapped to improve chip evacuation and reduce friction. For machine tapping, use the correct spindle speed and feed to match the workpiece material and machine capability; for manual tapping, apply steady axial force and reverse the tap periodically to break chips. Inspect the formed thread for conformity and clean chips from the hole before assembly.
For best results, match cutting speed and lubrication to the workpiece material: lower speeds and abundant lubricant for stainless and tough alloys, higher speeds for softer non-ferrous metals. Replace the tap when wear or degradation of the coating impairs thread quality. When tapping long or blind holes, consider peck tapping cycles or using a spiral-point/spiral-flute variant to improve chip removal.
