FANAR DIN 335-C Countersink 90° × 30.0 mm HSSE TiCN
The FANAR DIN 335-C Countersink 90° × 30.0 mm HSSE TiCN is a precision metalworking tool designed for deburring and chamfering holes. With a 90° included angle and a cutting diameter of 30.0 mm, this countersink is made from high-speed steel with cobalt (HSSE) and finished with a titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating. It is intended for use in drilling and milling machines to produce clean chamfers and smooth edges on through and blind holes in a variety of metals and alloys.
The HSSE substrate ensures high red hardness and toughness for reliable performance under elevated cutting temperatures, while the TiCN coating increases surface hardness and reduces friction, improving wear resistance and extending tool life. The 90° geometry provides a standard chamfer angle suitable for countersinking screw heads and preparing hole edges, and the 30.0 mm cutting diameter covers a range of medium-size hole finishing tasks. The tool design supports stable cutting and consistent chamfer dimensions when used with appropriate machine setup and cutting parameters.
Mount the countersink securely in the appropriate collet or chuck of a drilling or milling machine, ensuring correct axial alignment. Select cutting speeds and feed rates suitable for the workpiece material and the HSSE TiCN tool — lower speeds and steady feed for stainless steels, moderate speeds for carbon steels and non-ferrous alloys. Advance the tool into the hole to form the chamfer, monitoring depth and angle to achieve the required chamfer size. Retract the tool smoothly and inspect the chamfered edge for burr removal and dimensional conformity.
Use cutting fluid or coolant for improved surface finish and reduced thermal loading when working with steels; avoid excessive radial forces and vibration by using stable fixturing and correct machine settings. Regularly inspect the cutting edge for wear and replace the tool when chipping or loss of chamfer quality is observed to maintain consistent results.
