Drill bit for metal faster tools HSS-Red 12 mm, straight shank
Drill bit for metal faster tools HSS-Red 12 mm, straight shank
High-strength HSS metal drill bit by faster tools with a 12 mm diameter and straight shank, designed for drilling alloyed and non-alloyed steels, cast steels, cast iron and similar metals. The drill has a point angle of 118° and tolerance fit H12. Working length is 101 mm and overall length is 151 mm.
The drill is made of high-speed steel (HSS) for increased wear resistance and consistent cutting performance. A 118° point angle ensures accurate centring and reduced walking at the start of drilling. The H12 tolerance provides reliable fit for standard drill chucks and holders. Straight shank design simplifies mounting in standard drills and drill presses.
Secure the drill bit in a compatible chuck or holder, ensuring the straight shank seats fully. Select appropriate spindle speed and feed for the metal being drilled; lower speeds are recommended for harder or cast materials. Use cutting fluid or coolant when drilling steels and cast iron to extend tool life and improve chip evacuation. Apply steady, even pressure and withdraw periodically to clear chips from the hole.
For best results with alloyed or cast materials, use cutting fluid, start drilling at a low speed to establish the centre, and avoid excessive feed that can cause overheating or breakage. Inspect the drill for wear before use and replace when cutting performance declines.
