Brass nipple FERRO N10Z 3/4" x 1/2" plumbing fitting
FERRO N10Z 3/4" x 1/2" brass nipple is a threaded plumbing fitting intended for connecting pipes and fittings with different thread sizes in water and heating systems. Made from brass, the nipple offers a solid metal connection that resists corrosion and mechanical wear, making it suitable for both domestic and light commercial installations where reliable threaded joints are required.
The brass construction provides good corrosion resistance and mechanical strength compared with non-metallic connectors. Compact, male-to-male threaded design ensures straightforward installation between 3/4" and 1/2" female threads without the need for adapters. The smooth external finish facilitates sealing with standard thread sealants or tape and supports long-term use under typical household water pressures.
Ensure both mating female threads are clean and free of debris. Apply an appropriate thread sealant or PTFE tape to the male threads, wrapping in the direction of the threads to avoid unwrapping during installation. Hand-start the nipple into the first fitting to avoid cross-threading, then tighten with a suitable wrench until secure; avoid excessive torque which can damage threads. Finally, connect and tighten the second mating fitting. After installation, pressurize the system and check for leaks at the joints, retightening if necessary within recommended torque limits.
Use compatible thread sealants and avoid over-tightening to preserve thread integrity. For applications exposed to aggressive water chemistry or where galvanic corrosion is a concern, verify material compatibility with adjacent fittings and pipes.
