Brass reducing nipple FERRO N19Z 2 x 5/4" yellow
FERRO N19Z 2 x 5/4" yellow is a brass reducing nipple designed to connect pipes or fittings of different diameters. Made from metal with a yellow finish, this reducing nipple offers a durable threaded connection for water installations, heating systems and general plumbing tasks where a transition between a 2" and a 5/4" thread is required. The product is intended for use in environments typical to domestic and light commercial plumbing where brass fittings are appropriate.
The brass construction provides corrosion resistance and mechanical strength suitable for wet and heated environments. Threaded ends ensure a secure, leak-resistant joint when combined with appropriate sealing materials (thread tape or hemp). The compact, single-piece design simplifies installation and reduces the number of required components compared with using multiple adapters or couplings.
Ensure both mating threads are clean and free of debris or old sealant. Apply an appropriate thread sealant such as PTFE tape or hemp with sealant paste to the male threads before engagement. Hand-start the reducing nipple into the female fitting, then tighten with a suitable wrench until properly seated and leak-tight; avoid excessive torque that could damage threads. After installation, pressurize the system and check for leaks at the connection.
Use with compatible brass, copper or similarly rated fittings and avoid direct contact with dissimilar metals without proper dielectric fittings to prevent galvanic corrosion. For potable water systems follow local codes and use approved sealing materials. Inspect threaded joints periodically for signs of wear or leakage, especially in heating applications where temperature cycling occurs.
