3D printing filament Fiberlogy FiberFlex 40D 1.75 mm 0.5 kg — Black
Fiberlogy FiberFlex 40D is a flexible 3D printing filament in black with a 1.75 mm diameter supplied on a 0.5 kg spool. Formulated to produce elastic, impact-resistant prints, this filament is intended for applications that require repeated deformation and reliable recovery. FiberFlex 40D works with desktop FDM printers that accept 1.75 mm filament and offers a balance of softness and dimensional stability suitable for wearable prototypes, seals, gaskets and other flexible components.
FiberFlex 40D combines elasticity with good layer adhesion, enabling resilient prints that withstand bending and stretching. The material prints at moderate temperatures and shows low shrinkage, which helps maintain accurate dimensions and reduces warping on small to mid-size parts. Its surface finish is smooth and consistent in black, providing a clean look for functional and aesthetic applications. The filament is wound on a compact 0.5 kg spool that fits most standard filament holders for easy feeding.
Load the 1.75 mm FiberFlex 40D filament into a compatible FDM/FFF printer following the printer manufacturer's filament loading procedure. Use a direct drive or a well-tensioned Bowden setup to minimize filament stretching during feeding; fine-tune retraction to prevent clogging and stringing. Recommended printing temperatures and speeds should be adjusted according to your printer and hotend: start with manufacturer guidance for flexible filaments and perform test prints to determine optimal settings. Use a build surface or adhesion method appropriate for flexible materials to ensure first-layer bonding without excessive part distortion.
For best results, print at slower speeds and with reduced retraction settings compared to rigid filaments. Disable or minimize part cooling during the first layers to improve adhesion, and consider using a brim for small parts prone to lifting. Store the filament in a dry environment or sealed container with desiccant to preserve print quality.
