Fiberlogy Nylon PA12 filament, 1.75 mm diameter on a 0.75 kg spool, is a polyamide (nylon) material formulated for FDM/FFF 3D printing of durable functional parts and prototypes. PA12 offers a balance of toughness, flexibility and chemical resistance compared with other engineering filaments, making it appropriate for structural components, housings and mechanical parts printed with correct temperature and print settings. The spool is supplied in black and is intended for users who require nylon's mechanical performance in small to medium print runs.
Fiberlogy Nylon PA12 provides improved impact resistance and fatigue performance relative to many standard thermoplastics, combined with good dimensional stability for nylon. The material shows increased resistance to oils, greases and some chemicals, and yields parts with a smooth, matte surface finish in black. Its 1.75 mm diameter ensures compatibility with a wide range of hobbyist and professional FDM/FFF printers when using an appropriate hotend and print profile.
Load the 1.75 mm nylon filament into a compatible FDM/FFF printer equipped with a hardened steel or coated nozzle to reduce abrasion. Use manufacturer-recommended nozzle and bed temperatures for PA12, and enable an enclosed or well-controlled build chamber if available to minimise warping. Apply suitable bed adhesion methods such as glue stick, PEI sheet or nylon-specific adhesives and allow printed parts to cool gradually to reduce internal stresses. Store the spool in a dry environment or sealed container with desiccant when not in use to prevent moisture uptake.
For best results, print with a hardened nozzle, maintain dry filament storage, and calibrate extrusion and temperature settings for PA12. Consider post-processing steps such as annealing or surface finishing to improve mechanical properties and dimensional stability when producing critical functional parts.
