Gas Detector FireAngel FA3820-EUX10 Carbon Monoxide CO Electrochemical
The FireAngel FA3820-EUX10 Carbon Monoxide CO Electrochemical detector is a compact, surface-mounted alarm designed for domestic environments. It uses an electrochemical sensor to detect carbon monoxide and is powered by a 3V lithium battery. Measuring 125mm wide, 33mm deep and 67mm high, the unit is small enough to install on walls or ceilings without being obtrusive. The device includes a clear, loud alarm and BSI Kitemark approvals and replaces earlier end-of-life CO-9X models.
The electrochemical sensing method provides accurate CO measurement with low drift over time and reliable response to hazardous concentrations. A ventilate pre-alarm prompts users to open windows before dangerous levels develop, helping to reduce the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The alarm features a Sleep Easy function that silences low-battery alerts for eight hours to allow time for replacement without repeated nuisance sounds. Intelligent sensing can switch the device to a high sensitivity mode if it detects CO levels likely to rise rapidly, enabling faster warning when concentrations approach 180 ppm.
Install the FireAngel FA3820-EUX10 on a wall or ceiling following the manufacturer’s mounting instructions so the sensor is positioned where CO is most likely to accumulate, away from direct cooking fumes or steam. Activate the battery and test the alarm using the test button to verify correct operation. Regularly check the device status indicators and replace the unit’s battery according to the manufacturer’s guidance or when the low-battery alert is activated. Do not paint the unit or block the sensor openings.
Place at least one CO alarm on every level of the home and close to sleeping areas. Avoid installing directly above or beside fuel-burning appliances; instead fit the detector at breathing height in rooms where CO may accumulate. Periodically test the alarm, replace batteries when indicated, and follow ventilation advice if the pre-alarm triggers. Replace the detector at the end of its service life as specified by the manufacturer.
