The fischer cavity metal anchor HM-S is a cavity fixing with a metric internal thread designed for panel building materials such as gypsum fibre board and plasterboard. Supplied in a kit (Fischer 519769) containing metal anchors 32 mm long and 8 mm diameter, the HM-S is installed in pre-positioned holes and expands on the reverse side of the board to form a secure anchor point for fittings such as lights, towel rails and curtain rails.

How to use

Drill an 8 mm hole in the panel at the required position, insert the HM-S anchor into the pre-positioned hole, then set the fixing. For pre-positioned installation use the fischer installation pliers HM-Z 1 to pull the anchor and deploy the expanding arms behind the board. Alternatively, the anchor can be set with a screwdriver or cordless screwdriver by tightening the metric screw until the arms expand and press against the board reverse side. Finally, attach the fixture using the appropriate screw into the metric internal thread.

Usage recommendations

Use correct drill diameter (8 mm) and select anchor length according to board thickness (3–50 mm). Where possible, use the recommended fischer pliers HM-Z 1 for consistent setting; check load requirements of the mounted item and follow relevant building regulations for safe installation.
