The Fischer cavity metal anchor HM‑S is a metal anchor designed for use with panel building materials such as gypsum fibre board and plasterboard. It is supplied as part of the Screw & wall plug kit Fischer 519777, which contains multiple pieces suitable for fixing lights, towel rails and curtain rails. The anchor is set in the pre-positioned installation and, when expanded, grips the reverse side of the board to create a secure hold.

How to use

Position the anchor in the drilled hole so it sits pre-positioned against the board. Set the fixing using the fischer installation pliers HM‑Z 1 by pulling the anchor into the cavity; the expanding arms will swing open and press against the reverse side of the board. Alternatively, the anchor can be expanded by tightening with a screwdriver or cordless screwdriver until secure. After expansion, fit the required screw into the metric internal thread and mount the fixture.

Usage recommendations

Use a correctly sized drill bit (approx. 12 mm) and select the HM‑S length suitable for the board thickness. For repeated removal and refitting, use the specified metric screws and avoid overloading the installed anchor beyond the board material’s load limits.
