Universal plug Fischer UX 6 x 35
The Fischer universal plug UX 6 x 35 is a versatile nylon fixing designed for 6 mm drill holes and a minimum drill depth of 45 mm. Manufactured from high-quality nylon, this plug provides reliable anchoring in a wide range of base materials including concrete, aerated concrete, solid masonry, gypsum plasterboard and gypsum fibreboard. Supplied in packs of 50, it is suitable for general fastening tasks such as securing lights, curtain rails, lightweight cupboards and cornicing.
The Fischer universal fixing holds in nearly all common building materials thanks to its combination of expansion in solid substrates and knotting behaviour in hollow or perforated materials. In solid materials the plug expands to create a secure fit; in perforated brick and behind plasterboard the plug knots to form a firm anchor. The internal geometry provides optimum screw guidance and consistent performance with standard wood and chipboard screws.
Drill a 6 mm hole to at least 45 mm depth in the chosen base material. Clean out drilling dust before inserting the plug. Push the plug flush into the hole, then insert an appropriate screw (wood or chipboard screw) of correct length and diameter and tighten until the plug expands in solid material or knots in hollow areas. Do not overtighten the screw to avoid damaging the plug or the base material.
Choose screw length so that the screw engages in the plug with sufficient thread while leaving adequate embedment in the base material; check load requirements and, for heavy or safety-critical fixings, use appropriate anchors or consult technical guidance from the manufacturer.
