Fiskars 1070024 sewing scissors 242 mm Stainless steel plastic handle

The Fiskars 242 mm sewing scissors are precision-engineered cutting tools designed for fabric and textile work. With a total length of 242 mm and a width of 92 mm, these pinking shears feature durable stainless steel blades and an ergonomic plastic handle, manufactured in Finland and supplied in a blister package.

Advantages

The high-grade stainless steel blades deliver clean cuts all the way to the tip while maintaining long-lasting sharpness. An extended lower blade helps lift the material during cutting for improved accuracy. The ergonomically contoured handle is designed to match the natural shape of the hand, while the Softgrip touchpoints significantly enhance user comfort and control during extended crafting sessions.

Suitable for

• Cutting zigzag edges on various fabrics to reduce fraying and prevent unraveling
• Sewing and tailoring projects requiring clean fabric edging
• Crafting and art projects involving textiles

These scissors may not be suitable for heavy-duty industrial cutting tasks, non-fabric materials such as thick metal or wire, or precision paper crafts that require straight, non-zigzag cuts.

Key specifications

• Total length: 242 mm
• Width: 92 mm
• Blade material: Stainless steel
• Handle material: Plastic with Softgrip touchpoints
• Edge type: Zigzag pinking
• Country of origin: Finland

To use these scissors, hold the ergonomic handle securely with your fingers placed in the contoured loops. Position the fabric between the blades, ensuring the extended lower blade is placed underneath the material to help lift it. Apply steady pressure to cut along the fabric edge, producing a clean zigzag pattern that minimizes fraying.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that a zigzag pinking edge is appropriate for your specific sewing or crafting requirements
• Check the 242 mm total length to ensure the size fits your hand comfortably
• Confirm that the intended use is primarily for fabrics rather than general household paper or heavy materials

For optimal performance and longevity, store the scissors in a dry place and occasionally clean the stainless steel blades to remove residual fabric fibers.
