It combines a 2.3" QVGA (320×240) color display with Infrared Guided Measurement (IGM) powered by an 80×60 FLIR Lepton thermal imager, enabling visual targeting of suspected wet areas alongside numeric humidity and temperature readings. The device is battery powered by a rechargeable 3.7 V Li‑Ion cell and has compact dimensions (140×72×42 mm) for handheld use in HVAC diagnostics, building inspections and indoor climate monitoring.

How to use

Power the MR160 and allow the thermal imager to initialize. Use the live thermal view to scan surfaces and identify temperature anomalies that may indicate moisture. Aim the integrated laser pointer or cross‑hairs at the suspected area, then take a non‑intrusive pinless moisture measurement or attach and use the external pin probe for contact readings. Readings and thermal images are displayed together on the screen and can be saved to internal memory for later review. Recharge the internal battery via the micro‑USB port as needed and follow on‑screen options to program auto power‑off intervals.

Usage recommendations

For reliable moisture assessment, scan areas with the thermal imager first to target measurement locations, then confirm with pinless and/or pin measurements. Keep the minimum focus distance (about 10 cm) in mind for accurate thermal images and avoid exposing the device to temperatures or humidity beyond the specified operating ranges. Store captured images and values for reporting and further analysis with FLIR software if required.
