Network Tester Fluke LinkIQ Blue Orange
The Fluke LinkIQ Blue Orange network tester is a compact, portable tester designed for technicians and network professionals who need reliable verification of twisted-pair copper cabling and link performance up to 10G. The tester integrates a 6400 mAh Lithium-Ion battery for extended field use and weighs 624 g for easy transport. LinkIQ uses frequency-based measurements to determine maximum achievable bandwidth (from 10BASE‑T to 10GBASE‑T), provides nearest-switch diagnostics showing advertised data rate, switch name and port number, and reports VLAN information. The unit also supports PoE testing including a powered load test up to Class 8 (90 W), cable toning, port blink, 802.1x authentication checks, remote office locators, and result management via LinkWare PC. The kit includes the main unit, a Remote ID #1, RJ45–RJ45 patch cord, AC charger, RJ45/11 universal coupler, and carrying case.
The Fluke LinkIQ combines precise cable qualification and network-layer diagnostics in a single handheld instrument, allowing technicians to validate cable bandwidth and identify switch-level information without additional tools. Its built-in high-capacity Lithium‑Ion battery supports extended onsite workflows, while the lightweight design improves portability. The tester’s PoE load testing to Class 8 and comprehensive measurements reduce the need for separate PoE meters and simplify troubleshooting of power-over-Ethernet deployments. Integration with LinkWare PC enables result storage and reporting for documentation and compliance.
Connect the Fluke LinkIQ main unit to the cable under test using the supplied RJ45 patch cord or the remote ID at the far end. Power on the tester and select the desired test mode to run a cable qualification or switch diagnostics. The device measures frequency response to calculate the maximum achievable bandwidth and displays link performance up to 10GBASE‑T. For PoE verification, enable the PoE test and, if needed, run the powered load test to simulate connected devices up to Class 8. Use cable toning and port blink to identify specific cables and ports. After testing, save or export results to LinkWare PC for documentation and reporting.
For consistent results, ensure connectors and patch cords are clean and properly seated before testing. When testing PoE load, follow safety guidelines for powered equipment and avoid prolonged loads beyond required test duration. Regularly update the tester firmware through LinkWare PC to maintain compatibility with network devices and to access the latest measurement improvements.
