The FNIRSI IR40 Laser Rangefinder Kit is a compact laser distance meter for measuring length, area and volume. It supports continuous area calculation as the distance changes and includes Bluetooth connectivity for transferring measurements to a computer or mobile device using the RangeFinder app. A built-in gyroscope rotates the display according to orientation. The unit is powered by a rechargeable 400 mAh battery charged via the included USB-C cable and offers up to 3000 measurements per charge. The device is suitable for interior design, construction, renovation and other professional or private measuring tasks.
The IR40 provides quick and accurate laser measurements within a 0.05–40 m range and supports Pythagorean calculations for indirect height measurements. Bluetooth pairing allows remote data transfer and storage, while the rechargeable battery and compact form factor make the meter portable and convenient for repeated use. The auto-rotating display improves readability in different orientations.
Power on the device and select the required measurement mode (length, area, volume, or Pythagoras). Aim the laser at the target and press the measurement button; the meter will display and, if applicable, continuously update area or volume values as distance changes. For indirect height measurements, use the Pythagorean mode following on-screen prompts. To transfer data, enable Bluetooth on your mobile device or computer, open the RangeFinder app and pair it with the meter to download measurements and calculations. Charge the meter with the supplied USB-C cable when battery is low.
Use the IR40 on stable surfaces or with a steady hand for most accurate results. Avoid direct exposure of the laser to eyes and follow local safety guidelines for Class 2 laser devices. For best Bluetooth connectivity, keep the paired device within typical Bluetooth range and ensure the RangeFinder app is up to date.
