Medium format black-and-white film Foma Fomapan 200-120 Retro Limited by Foma, ISO 200, 120 roll
Foma Fomapan 200-120 Retro Limited is a medium-format black-and-white film with ISO 200 sensitivity supplied in 120 roll format. Intended for analogue photographers, this film yields classic monochrome images with a balanced tonal range and a pronounced, yet controlled grain structure. It is suitable for standard black-and-white chemical development processes and offers predictable results for portrait, landscape and street photography when used with medium-format cameras and compatible processing equipment.
The film delivers consistent exposure latitude at ISO 200, producing natural midtones and preserved highlight detail. Its grain structure provides a distinctive retro aesthetic while remaining fine enough for enlargements and medium-format scans. The film is compatible with common black-and-white developers and darkroom processes, allowing photographers to control contrast and grain through developer choice, agitation and development time.
Load the 120 roll into a compatible medium-format camera following the camera manufacturer’s instructions, observe recommended exposure settings for ISO 200 and bracket if uncertain. After exposure, process the film using standard black-and-white development chemistry; adjust developer type, dilution and time to control final contrast and grain. Rinse, fix and wash according to chemical manufacturer guidelines, then dry in a dust-free environment before scanning or printing.
For preserved highlights and balanced midtones, meter for the shadows or midtones and rate the film at ISO 200. To emphasize the retro grain, use higher-contrast developers or extend development time slightly; to minimize grain and soften contrast, choose fine-grain developers and shorter development. Store unused film in a cool, dry place and keep processed negatives away from direct sunlight.
