Neutral Density (ND4) Filter Freewell for DJI Mavic 3
Neutral Density (ND4) Filter Freewell for DJI Mavic 3
The Freewell ND4 neutral density filter for DJI Mavic 3 reduces incoming light by 2 stops to help achieve proper exposure and smoother motion blur in bright daylight. Designed to fit the Mavic 3 camera lens, this ND4 filter is made from optical glass set in a lightweight aluminum alloy frame. It protects the lens from scratches, dust and light splashes while allowing you to control shutter speed and reduce overexposure during daytime flights and cinematic captures.
The ND4 filter lowers light transmission by approximately 2 stops, enabling more accurate exposure control and natural motion blur for video. Its optical glass delivers consistent color rendering and high contrast with minimal image degradation. The aluminum alloy mount is light and durable, reducing added weight on the drone while providing mechanical protection. The filter is resistant to dust, scratches and light moisture, and comes with a protective case for secure storage during transport.
Attach the Freewell ND4 filter directly to the DJI Mavic 3 camera lens following the drone manufacturer’s mounting procedure, ensuring the lens and filter threads are clean before fitting. Use the filter when shooting in bright daylight to reduce light input, allowing lower shutter speeds for smoother motion blur or to maintain correct exposure at lower ISO values. Remove and store the filter in its protective case when not in use to avoid scratches and contamination.
For cinematic results, set your shutter speed to approximately double the video frame rate (the 180-degree rule) after fitting the ND4 filter to achieve natural motion blur. Check exposure and histogram when changing lighting conditions and carry the protective case to keep the glass clean between flights.
