Product information

Description

The Fujifilm X-T50 is a compact mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera (MILC) body featuring a 40.2 MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor and X-Processor 5 imaging engine. Designed with a classic film-camera aesthetic and a rounded, ergonomic body, the camera combines a lightweight construction with advanced stills and video capabilities, including up to 6.2K internal recording, subject-detection autofocus, and up to 7.0 stops of in-body image stabilization (IBIS).

Advantages

The camera offers high-resolution image capture with improved signal-to-noise performance, native ISO 125 sensitivity, and a wide dynamic range supported by F-Log and F-Log2. Its Film Simulation dial provides quick access to 20 film simulation modes including the new REALA ACE. Physical top-plate dials for shutter speed, exposure compensation and film simulation, combined with an aperture ring on most XF lenses, enable tactile control and quick adjustments without powering the camera on. A 2.36M-dot EVF with 0.62x magnification and a tilting 3" touchscreen enhance framing versatility.

Suitable for

  • High-resolution photography (landscape, studio, product)
  • Street and travel photography requiring a compact, lightweight body
  • Hybrid shooters who record 6.2K/4K video and need advanced video codecs and F-Log2
  • Wildlife and action photography benefiting from subject-detection AF and updated AF algorithms

Key specifications

  • Sensor: 40.2 MP X-Trans CMOS 5 HR
  • Processor: X-Processor 5
  • Image resolution: up to 7728 x 5152 pixels
  • ISO sensitivity: native range including ISO 125, up to ISO 51200
  • IBIS: up to 7.0 stops
  • Shutter speed: up to 1/180000 s
  • Video: internal up to 6.2K/30p (4:2:2 10-bit), 4K/60p, F-Log and F-Log2 support
  • Autofocus: subject detection AF with deep-learning AI (animals, vehicles, insects, drones, etc.)
  • Viewfinder: 2.36M-dot EVF, 0.62x magnification
  • Display: 3" tilting touchscreen
  • Weight: approx. 0.389 kg
  • Body colour: Charcoal

How to use

Mount a compatible XF lens and set exposure using the top-plate shutter speed and exposure compensation dials together with the lens aperture ring. Select Film Simulation using the dedicated top dial for immediate colour rendering. Use the touchscreen to select subjects and enable Wide/Tracking AF for continuous subject tracking in AF-C, or tap the LCD to lock focus while recording video. For high-dynamic-range workflows, record using F-Log2 and process footage in post-production. For everyday shooting, AUTO mode will set exposure and subject detection automatically.

Usage recommendations

For best image quality, use native ISO values when possible (including ISO 125 for bright conditions), combine IBIS with appropriate shutter speeds or lens stabilization, and choose Film Simulation modes to match the intended colour and tonal characteristics. When recording video intended for color grading, use F-Log2 and record in 10-bit 4:2:2 where available.
