Gedore 1498738 is a manual adjustable torque screwdriver designed for controlled screw tightening in the range 0.08–9 N·m. It is compact and lightweight (0.124 kg) and intended for use in electrical and electronic hardware, instrument-making and industrial manufacturing where repeatable, high-speed, controlled tightening is required. Advantages

The screwdriver features a micrometre scale with 1 cN·m and 0.1 N·m graduations and offers actuation accuracy of ±6% of the set value. A precision radial ball clutch and cam design provide controlled bi-directional tightening with an automatic slip when the set torque is reached and automatic resetting to the start position. The Positive-Lock system secures the set torque against accidental changes. The handle is lightweight, non-slip rubber and the tool is EPA-conformant for electrostatic-sensitive environments. A 1/4" female hex drive accepts 1/4" hex bits (DIN 3126 - C 6.3) and, with the supplied adapter, is compatible with 1/4" square drive sockets (DIN 3124).

How to use

Select the desired torque on the micrometre scale and lock the setting using the Positive-Lock system to prevent unintended changes. Fit a 1/4" hex bit into the female hex drive or attach the supplied adapter to use 1/4" square sockets. Apply the screwdriver to the fastener and tighten; the mechanism will slip and reset automatically when the set torque is reached. For models 756-06 and 756-09 a sliding T-bar is available to assist application of torque.

Usage recommendations

For repeatable results and compliance with standards, have the tool inspected and calibrated according to DIN EN ISO 6789 at recommended intervals and store it in its original packaging when not in use to protect the calibration and EPA properties.
