punch/nail set/drift Gedore 2004658
Gedore 2004658 punch/nail set/drift is made from chrome-molybdenum-vanadium air-hardening steel (45CrMoV7) and is carefully hardened and tempered along its full length. The striking heads are inductively tempered, the working edge is polished and protected with a clear varnish. The tool is supplied in a version with a pilot for model No. 119-175; special types or sizes are available on request.
The Gedore 2004658 offers a compact, lightweight design (approx. 61 g) that improves maneuverability. Full-length hardening and tempering combined with inductively tempered striking heads increase wear resistance and service life. Polished working edge and protective varnish reduce corrosion risk and ensure consistent performance for driving nails and making indentations.
Position the punch or nail set on the intended spot, taking care to align it precisely for the required indentation or nail driving operation. Hold the tool steady by the shank and deliver controlled blows to the striking head with a suitable hammer. For starter indentations, use short, accurate strikes until the required mark is achieved. When using the pilot version, ensure the pilot is seated correctly to guide the punch.
Use protective eyewear and gloves when striking. Choose a hammer of appropriate mass for the workpiece and avoid excessive bending or levering of the punch to prevent damage. Store the tool dry and clean; reapply protective coating if varnish is damaged. For non-standard sizes or special types, contact the supplier.
