Pliers Gedore 6700650
Pliers Gedore 6700650 are designed for fitting and removing retaining rings (Seeger and Benzing) on shafts without a groove. The tool features 90° angled tips, an opening spring and an adjustable stop screw that limits tip opening to prevent over‑tensioning of the smallest retaining rings. Manufactured from forged Gedore chrome‑vanadium special hardened and tempered steel, the pliers are precision machined, oil hardened and annealed, and supplied with black finish and red dipped handles.
The pliers combine a high degree of assembly reliability with a limit‑opening mechanism that prevents damage to retaining rings. Hardened and tempered Gedore chrome‑vanadium steel construction ensures durability and long service life. Precision machining and oil hardening provide consistent tip fit and strength, while the opening spring and ergonomic red dipped handles improve handling and control.
Position the angled tips into the holes or behind the ends of the retaining ring on a shaft without groove. Squeeze the handles to close the tips and compress the ring, then remove or install the ring as required. Use the adjustable stop screw to set the maximum opening to suit the smallest rings you work with, and rely on the opening spring for controlled tip separation when releasing the tool.
Inspect retaining rings and shaft contact surfaces before use. Adjust the stop screw to prevent over‑tensioning small rings and wear appropriate eye protection during removal or installation. Keep the tool clean and occasionally apply light oil to the pivot to maintain smooth action.
