Pliers Gedore 6701540
Pliers Gedore 6701540 are designed for installing and removing retaining rings (circlips) that conform to DIN 471, DIN 983 and DIN 5254 Form A. These pliers feature straight tips, an opening spring and clamping protection. They are manufactured from forged Gedore chrome-vanadium special hardened and tempered steel, precision machined, oil hardened and annealed. The tool is finished in black with red dipped handles and offers a compact, lightweight design (105 mm width, 64 mm height, 186 g weight) suitable for workshop and field use.
The Gedore 6701540 provides durable chrome-vanadium construction and heat-treated components for high wear resistance and long service life. Straight tips and precision machining ensure secure engagement with retaining rings, while the opening spring and clamping protection improve handling and reduce the risk of ring loss during use. The red dipped handles give a comfortable, non-slip grip and make the pliers easy to identify in a toolbox.
Select the correct pliers for the retaining ring standard and size. Position the straight tips into the ring eyes, squeeze the handles to open the ring and either expand or compress the ring as required for removal or installation. Use the opening spring to restore the tool to the open position between operations and rely on the clamping protection to keep the ring secure while positioning. Maintain controlled hand pressure to avoid slipping or damaging the ring.
Inspect the tips before use for wear or deformation; replace the pliers if tips are damaged. Clean and lightly oil the pivot periodically to maintain smooth operation. Use correct-sized tips and appropriate protective eyewear when working with retaining rings.
