Masonry Chisel Gedore 8769840
Gedore 8769840 masonry chisel made from chrome-molybdenum-vanadium air-hardening steel (45CrMoV7) and hardened and tempered along its full length. The striking head is inductively tempered, and the working edge is polished and coated with clear varnish. The chisel weighs 604 g and is intended for precise stone and brick work.
The masonry chisel is manufactured from 45CrMoV7 steel according to DIN 6453, providing high wear resistance and toughness. Full-length hardening and tempering improve edge retention and overall stability. An inductively tempered striking head increases resistance to impact deformation, while the polished, varnished working edge reduces friction and helps maintain a clean cutting surface.
Position the chisel with the cutting edge against the masonry at the required angle and strike the head with a suitable hammer or mallet. Use controlled, firm blows to cut or split stone and brick, taking care to direct force away from your body. For precision removal or shaping, use lighter tapping and progressively increase force as needed. After use, inspect the edge for chips or damage and clean off dust and debris.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection) when using the chisel. Avoid striking the chisel with hardened steel hammers that can cause damage; use a suitable striking hammer. Store the tool in a dry place to prevent corrosion and periodically check the striking head and edge condition before heavy use.
