Wire cup brush GEKO model 10/120 brass-plated 100 mm with arbor
Wire cup brush GEKO model 10/120 brass-plated 100 mm with arbor is a rotating abrasive accessory designed for surface cleaning, rust and paint removal, deburring and light surface preparation on metal and other hard materials. The brush features brass-plated steel wires arranged in a cup shape and an integrated arbor/shank that allows direct mounting in angle grinders and compatible rotary tools accepting a 100 mm cup brush with shank. The construction balances brushing aggressiveness with controlled material removal for typical workshop and maintenance tasks.
The brass-plated wires provide improved resistance to corrosion compared with bare steel wire and reduce the risk of sparking during operation. The cup shape concentrates brushing action for efficient cleaning of flat and slightly contoured surfaces. An integrated arbor/shank simplifies attachment and helps maintain concentric rotation. The 100 mm diameter gives a balance between reach and maneuverability for general-purpose surface work on metal components.
Fit the brush securely onto the grinder or rotary tool following the tool manufacturer’s instructions, ensuring the shank is fully inserted and the tool is disconnected from power during installation. Operate the tool at the recommended speed range and apply moderate, even pressure: allow the brush to do the work rather than forcing it into the surface. Work in smooth passes, keeping the brush axis aligned with the surface to avoid uneven wear and reduce vibration. Periodically stop to inspect the brush and the workpiece and to clear debris.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, gloves and hearing protection. Avoid using the brush on soft non-metallic materials where wire bristles could cause damage. Replace the brush if wires become excessively worn, bent or detached. Follow the angle grinder or rotary tool safety guidelines and the maximum safe operating speed for the accessory.
