Core drill for tiles GEKO 16 mm with M14 thread
Core drill for tiles GEKO 16 mm with M14 thread is a diamond-tipped dry drilling bit designed for use with angle grinders equipped with an M14 mounting. It is intended for making holes in hard ceramic materials, including porcelain ceramic products, ceramic tiles, klinker and glazed surfaces. The bit has an external diameter of 16 mm and a 10 mm diamond coating. The inside of the drill is treated with wax to absorb heat from the diamond surface and reduce overheating during dry drilling.
The GEKO 16 mm core drill features a durable diamond coating for efficient cutting in hard ceramics and glazed materials. Its M14 mounting provides compatibility with common angle grinders. Inner wax treatment helps manage heat buildup during dry drilling, extending tool life and maintaining cutting performance. The compact 16 mm diameter and 10 mm diamond layer deliver precise hole formation while minimising chipping on tile surfaces.
Secure the core drill to an angle grinder with an M14 spindle. Mark the drilling position on the tile and start drilling at low speed to establish the initial groove. Apply steady, moderate pressure and maintain a consistent speed to avoid excessive heat and chipping. Since this tool is designed for dry drilling, avoid introducing water; pause occasionally to allow the bit to cool if necessary. After completing the hole, clean debris from the drill and the workpiece.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (safety glasses, gloves and dust mask). For best results on large or very hard tiles, perform drilling in stages and allow cooling intervals. Ensure the angle grinder is held steadily to prevent slipping and uneven holes.
