Wire cup brush GEKO G00624, braided steel, 65 mm cup, with shank
GEKO G00624 is a braided steel wire cup brush with a 65 mm cup diameter and an integrated shank for direct mounting in rotary tools. Designed for efficient surface cleaning, rust and paint removal, deburring and preparation of metal surfaces prior to welding or coating, this compact cup brush fits grinders and die grinders where a strong, flexible brushing action is required.
The braided steel construction provides high resistance to wire breakage and stable brushing performance at rotational speeds typical for handheld grinders and die grinders. The 65 mm cup shape concentrates the brushing action for consistent material removal while the built-in shank simplifies attachment and reduces setup time. The compact design balances aggressiveness and control, enabling work in tighter areas without sacrificing brush life.
Mount the cup brush securely in the tool’s collet or chuck ensuring the shank is fully seated. Run the tool at the manufacturer-recommended speed range for braided wire brushes and apply steady, moderate pressure—allow the brush’s natural action to remove material rather than forcing excessive force. Move the cup across the surface with consistent strokes and keep the brush axis aligned with the workpiece curvature where possible. Periodically inspect the brush for wear, wire breakage or imbalance and replace if performance degrades.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, gloves and respiratory protection when working with wire brushes. Avoid excessive lateral pressure and high speeds beyond the tool and brush ratings to minimize wire projection and extend brush life. Use the brush on clean, stable workpieces and secure small parts in a vise to prevent movement during operation.
