GEKO Wood Spade Drill Bit 38 x 152 mm HEX shank model G37324
GEKO Wood Spade Drill Bit 38 x 152 mm HEX shank model G37324
GEKO Wood Spade Drill Bit 38 x 152 mm with HEX shank is a flat paddle-style bit designed for rapid drilling of large-diameter through-holes in soft and construction timber, plywood and similar wood materials. The broad, flat blade clears chips efficiently and creates clean entry and exit holes, while the HEX shank provides a positive grip in quick-change chucks and prevents slippage during heavy carpentry and installation tasks.
The paddle geometry delivers fast material removal and reduced clogging compared with twist bits when cutting wide holes in wood. The flat cutting face and centring point produce cleaner hole edges and straighter bore lines. A HEX shank offers secure retention in compatible drill chucks and impact drivers, enabling quick bit swaps and stable torque transfer for repetitive drilling operations.
Install the bit into a compatible chuck or quick-change adapter ensuring the HEX shank seats fully and securely. Mark the drilling position and, if required, use a centre punch or pilot mark to locate the start point. Start drilling at moderate speed to engage the centring tip, then apply steady pressure while allowing the bit to remove chips; increase speed if the drill and material permit. Withdraw the bit periodically on deep holes to clear chips and reduce heat build-up. After use, clean wood debris from the blade and store the bit in a dry place to prevent corrosion.
For best results, use with variable-speed drills set to appropriate speed for wood, and avoid excessive side load to maintain hole quality and prolong bit life.
