Flap Mounted Abrasive Wheel GEKO G78765 — 80 x 40 x 6 mm, P40, pack 10/100
Flap Mounted Abrasive Wheel GEKO G78765 — 80 x 40 x 6 mm, P40, pack 10/100 is a radial flap wheel made for material removal, edge blending and surface finishing on metal and a range of other materials. The wheel is formed from overlapping abrasive flaps bonded around a central hub and is intended to be mounted on a compatible spindle for use with bench grinders, die grinders or handheld rotary tools. With grit P40 it provides relatively aggressive cutting for faster stock removal while maintaining a controllable finish.
The flap-mounted construction delivers consistent contact with irregular surfaces and contours, allowing even wear across the abrasive flaps and extended service life compared with a single-sheet abrasive. The medium-coarse P40 grit balances removal rate and surface conditioning, making it suitable for deburring, weld smoothing and rapid surface preparation. The compact 80 x 40 x 6 mm dimensions allow access to tighter spaces while the hub-mounted design ensures secure attachment to standard spindles and rotary tool arbors.
Mount the flap wheel securely on a compatible spindle or arbor following the tool manufacturer’s instructions and ensure the wheel runs true before applying load. Start the grinder or rotary tool and allow it to reach full speed; apply the abrasive wheel to the workpiece with steady, moderate pressure and move continuously to avoid generating excessive heat or gouging. Use intervening inspections to check wear and replace the wheel when abrasive performance diminishes or flap integrity is compromised. Always follow the maximum speed rating of both the wheel and the tool.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection, gloves and hearing protection. For metalworking tasks monitor temperature to reduce risk of overheating the workpiece; use light, controlled passes for finishing applications. Store the wheels in a dry environment away from direct sunlight to preserve abrasive bonding and flexibility.
