3D printing material Gembird 3DP-PETG1.75-01-B Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol PETG Blue
Gembird 3DP-PETG1.75-01-B Polyethylene Terephthalate Glycol (PETG) filament in blue is a 1.75 mm thermoplastic material designed for FDM/FFF 3D printers. This PETG filament combines good mechanical strength with reliable layer adhesion and moderate flexibility, producing parts with smooth surfaces and reduced warping compared to some other materials. The blue color provides consistent pigmentation for visual prototypes and functional parts where color uniformity is required.
PETG offers a balance of strength and ease of printing: it adheres well between layers, resists impact better than brittle materials, and yields durable prints suitable for functional use. The filament feeds consistently on standard extruders at common PETG temperatures and produces minimal odor during printing. Its surface finish is relatively smooth and can be post-processed by light sanding or polishing if required.
Load the filament onto a compatible 1.75 mm extruder and set the nozzle and bed temperatures within the recommended PETG ranges for your printer and hotend. Use a heated bed with adhesion aid such as a glue stick, PET tape, or a textured build surface to reduce the chance of warping. Calibrate extrusion multiplier and retraction settings to reduce stringing; PETG generally requires lower retraction distance and moderate speed. After printing, allow parts to cool on the bed to stabilize dimensions before removal.
Store the filament in a dry environment or sealed container with desiccant to prevent moisture absorption, which can cause bubbling and poor surface quality. For best results, dry filament before printing if it has absorbed humidity. Use standard PETG print settings as a starting point and fine-tune temperature, speed, and retraction for your specific printer and model geometry.
