Filament for 3D printing GEMBIRD 3DP-PLA-01-MTNB Polylactic acid (PLA) 1.75 mm Blue/Navy 1 kg
GEMBIRD 3DP-PLA-01-MTNB is a 1 kg spool of Polylactic acid (PLA) filament designed for FDM 3D printers. The filament has a nominal diameter of 1.75 mm and a density of 1210 kg/m³, providing consistent extrusion, good layer adhesion and predictable dimensional stability. Available in blue/navy tones, this PLA is suitable for general prototyping, hobby modelling and decorative prints and is compatible with printers from any brand.
This PLA filament offers stable diameter tolerance for fewer extrusion issues and a reliable melt flow for smooth surface finish on printed parts. Its material composition makes it easy to print at standard PLA temperatures without the need for an enclosed chamber. The 1 kg spool format reduces spool changes during medium-sized projects and is suitable for both single-piece prints and small production runs.
Load the filament onto a compatible FDM/FFF printer and feed it through the extruder according to the printer manufacturer's instructions. Recommended printing temperatures for PLA typically range between 190–220 °C; adjust within this range to optimise adhesion and surface quality for your specific printer and nozzle size. Use a print bed surface suitable for PLA — such as blue painter's tape, PEI sheet or a lightly glued glass bed — and set a moderate bed temperature or print on an unheated bed depending on adhesion needs. Calibrate extrusion multiplier and retraction settings to reduce stringing and improve dimensional accuracy.
Store the filament in a dry place or sealed container with desiccant to maintain print quality. For best results, perform routine calibration of nozzle temperature, bed leveling and flow rate when switching colours or spool batches. Avoid exposing printed PLA parts to prolonged outdoor sunlight or high-temperature environments, as PLA can soften at elevated temperatures.
