3D printing material Gembird 3DP-PLA1.75GE-01-BK Polylactic acid PLA Black 200 g
Gembird 3DP-PLA1.75GE-01-BK Polylactic acid (PLA) in black is a 200 g spool of thermoplastic filament designed for fused filament fabrication (FFF) 3D printers. With a material density of 1250 kg/m³ and compatibility with printers of any brand, this PLA filament provides predictable extrusion and consistent layer adhesion for a wide range of prototyping and hobbyist applications.
This black PLA filament offers good dimensional stability and low warping compared with many engineering plastics, making it suitable for detailed prints and parts that require consistent surface finish. The material is biodegradable under industrial composting conditions and produces minimal odor during printing. Its universal compatibility and standard 1.75 mm diameter make it easy to use across most consumer and prosumer FFF machines.
Load the filament into the extruder of a 1.75 mm-capable FFF/FDM 3D printer following the printer manufacturer's instructions. Recommended nozzle temperatures for PLA typically range from 180–220 °C depending on the printer and print speed; start at the midpoint and adjust to improve layer adhesion and surface quality. Use a heated bed set to 40–60 °C or an unheated bed with a suitable adhesion aid such as blue painter's tape or a glue stick. Store the remaining filament in a dry environment or sealed container with desiccant to prevent moisture uptake.
For best results, print at moderate speeds (30–60 mm/s) with adequate cooling for fine details. Calibrate extrusion multiplier and retraction settings for your specific printer to reduce stringing and improve dimensional accuracy. Keep filament dry before use to avoid brittleness and inconsistent extrusion.
