PCI Fast Ethernet Card GEMBIRD 100 Mbit/s, Wired, PCI interface
GEMBIRD PCI Fast Ethernet Card NIC-R1 is a wired network adapter that provides 10/100 Mbit/s Ethernet connectivity through a standard PCI slot. Equipped with a Realtek 8139C single-chip controller and compliant with PCI local bus specification 2.1, this card restores or adds a 100BASE-T connection to desktop PCs and legacy systems. The adapter supports auto-negotiation to select the optimal link speed and includes an onboard socket for an optional remote Boot ROM, making it suitable for network boot scenarios and simple wired networking tasks.
The GEMBIRD PCI Fast Ethernet Card offers a compact and straightforward solution for adding wired network support to desktops with available PCI slots. With a Realtek 8139C single-chip controller and support for auto-negotiation, the card ensures compatibility with 10/100 Mbps networks and standard switches. The onboard socket for an optional remote Boot ROM enables PXE-like boot options, and the PCI 2.1 interface provides broad compatibility with older motherboards.
Power off the computer and unplug it from the mains before installation. Open the desktop case, locate an available 32-bit PCI slot and carefully insert the network card until the bracket aligns with the case. Secure the card with the retaining screw, close the case and reconnect power. Boot the system and install the appropriate driver if the operating system does not automatically recognize the Realtek 8139C controller. If using network boot, install the compatible Boot ROM module into the onboard socket before powering on.
Use a Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable for stable 100 Mbit/s connections and connect to a compatible 10/100 switch or router. Keep motherboard BIOS and operating system drivers up to date to ensure proper recognition of legacy PCI devices. Avoid installing the card in occupied or faulty PCI slots and handle the card by its edges to prevent electrostatic damage.
