It supports Caller ID, offers a built-in phone book for up to 100 entries, and provides a hands-free speakerphone for comfortable conversations. The device is available in white and can be expanded with up to four additional handsets. ECO DECT technology reduces transmission power in standby and during calls depending on handset distance.

Advantages

The Gigaset A690 delivers adjustable hands-free audio profiles and consistently clear voice quality. Its large illuminated display and high-contrast graphics simplify dialing and reading caller information. Practical call-blocking functions let you blacklist up to 32 numbers or block anonymous callers, and VIP settings allow selected numbers to bypass Do Not Disturb. The handset provides up to 14 hours talk time and around 180 hours standby. The A690A variant includes a built-in digital answering machine with up to 20 minutes of recording time and retains messages during power outages.

How to use

Place the base on a desk or other flat surface and connect it to your analog telephone line following the quick start guide. Use the keypad to dial numbers or select contacts from the phonebook. Choose hands-free mode to use the speakerphone, and switch between the two available audio profiles to adjust higher or lower frequency emphasis for comfortable speech. To expand coverage, register additional Gigaset-compatible handsets to the base (up to four). For the A690A, access the answering machine via the handset or base to play or record greetings and to manage saved messages.

Usage recommendations

Disable ECO DECT only if you need maximum DECT range; otherwise keep ECO DECT enabled to reduce transmission power. Add frequently called contacts to the phonebook and mark essential numbers as VIP so they can reach you when Do Not Disturb is active. Regularly back up important numbers by noting them externally if required.
