Serial cable Goobay 68875 USB Type-A to RS-232 Black 1.5 m
Serial cable Goobay 68875 USB Type-A to RS-232 Black 1.5 m
The Goobay 68875 serial cable provides a USB Type-A to RS-232 (9-pin D-Sub) connection in a single 1.5 m black cable designed to link serial devices to modern USB hosts. It converts USB 2.0 signals to RS-232 levels so serial peripherals such as modems, industrial controllers, measurement instruments and point-of-sale equipment can exchange data and receive control commands from computers that lack a native COM port.
This cable supports a direct, plug-and-play style connection between a USB Type-A host and a D-Sub 9-pin RS-232 device without requiring a full RS-232 port on the computer. Its 1.5 m length offers a practical balance between reach and desktop cable management. The black jacket provides neutral appearance and standard abrasion protection for everyday use. The cable converts USB 2.0 signals to RS-232 signaling levels to maintain compatibility with legacy serial equipment while using modern host interfaces.
Insert the USB Type-A plug into an available USB port on the host computer and connect the D-Sub 9-pin plug to the RS-232 serial device. If necessary, install the appropriate driver on the host system so the USB-to-RS-232 adapter is recognized as a virtual COM port. After driver installation, configure serial port parameters (baud rate, parity, data bits, stop bits and flow control) in the host application to match the connected device settings, then establish communication.
For reliable operation, use the cable in environments free from strong electromagnetic interference and avoid sharp bends near the connectors. Verify driver compatibility with your operating system and confirm serial settings with the device manufacturer. For permanent installations, secure the cable to prevent strain on the connectors.
